Over two hours of chocolate making fun
Our Chocolate Courses are ideal for Chocolate lovers who want to learn how to make Chocolates for themselves, for family and friends, perfect for a fun morning or afternoon, but also an ideal first step for the novice wanting to become a professional Chocolatier.
Our Courses are run in central Cambridge and last about 2 hours, the Chocolatier who runs the course will take you on a guided tour of some of the highest quality blended and single origin Chocolate available so that you can identify the distinctive flavours of each and know which you prefer: there will be plenty of samples for everyone to taste and compare notes! You will then move on to the practical part of the course where you will learn how to handle Chocolate: one of the most demanding ingredients used in the kitchen!
The Chocolatier will show you how to make delicious Truffles using the traditional methods of the Artisan Chocolatier so that you can ensure that your own chocolates have the distinctive appearance and flavour of high quality chocolate.
With the expert guidance of the Chocolatier you will make and wrap between 20 and 30 delicious handmade chocolates.
At the end of the course you will be given a Recipe Booklet & 10% Discount Card, and be able to take your truffles home to show your friends and family your new skills as a “Chocolatier in Training”!
Chocolate Making Courses cost £75 per person, but there is a discount of £5 per person if two or more vouchers or places are booked at the same time which is automatically applied at the checkout.
You can choose a specific date, or you can buy a voucher for yourself or as a gift so that the date can be chosen at a later time.
These courses are suitable for attendees aged 14 and above, and we can accommodate most allergies as long as they aren’t serious, but before booking please read the notes below
Before each course we will be in contact with you and check if you have any allergies that might stop you attending. We are able to use dairy free & gluten free products and cater for coeliacs & mild nut allergies quite easily, but please note that we can’t guarantee that the ingredients and chocolate that we use are totally free from any allergen that might affect you.
We therefore suggest that if you have a severe allergy you contact us before booking.
You will be sent an allergy questionnaire at least a week before the course, if you don’t complete the form at least 7 days before the course date then we may not be able to provide chocolate or ingredients that meet your needs.
We can provide chocolate and ingredients that are vegetarian, vegan, or alcohol free; in the allergy questionnaire that will be sent to you we will ask if you have any dietary preferences but , as with Allergies, if you don’t let us know in time we won’t be able to provide chocolate or ingredients that meet your needs.
Our courses are normally held in central Cambridge in a location that does not have step free access or a lift, if you have a mobility problem please contact us before for advice. Unfortunately due to the nature of venues in Cambridge we can’t offer a step free location, but we continue to look.
Age is no barrier to attending a chocolate making course, but we do ask for a minimum age of 14.
There is no space on the course for non-paying guests such as young children or babies in the room, but there are many places in Cambridge to keep them busy and entertained.
If you have visual or auditory limitations please let us know, and we can work with you to ensure that you can enjoy the course, you are of course welcome to bring someone to help you. If you bring a hearing or seeing dog please be aware that chocolate can be poisonous.
